Why “Thrive”?

I’m not going to lie. I’m not the picture of perfect health, however I strive to be well. I was diagnosed with cancer when I was 8 and treated with chemotherapy for 2 years and 2 months. I’m so grateful for my doctors and family, however that is not when the struggle ended. I have had epilepsy ever since, with a host of other long-term side effects such as osteoporosis (I’m in my 30s). In addition, I figure skated for 14 years, which really took a toll on my body.

BUT I’M HERE! Yes, many might call me a survivor. I like to think of myself as a thriver. The struggles are never behind us. Life can change in an instant or slowly over time. I live with chronic pain. But we ask for help, learn from others on how to mediate the effects if we can’t “fix” the source of the problem. Even I go to physical therapy every week and do the exercises as recommended. Everyone can use the help to thrive. Don’t waitask for help to live and thrive and flourish to become your best self.
